UK Dust Extraction Systems

Woodworking dust extraction systems designed, manufactured and installed in the UK

Inventair Ltd designs, manufactures and installs dust extraction systems for woodworking, joinery and furniture manufacturing businesses across the UK.

With more than 35 years of engineering experience and specialist knowledge of the woodworking industry, we can design a dust extraction system around your machinery, workshop layout, production requirements and future plans. Our systems can include dust extraction units, filtration, fans and extraction ductwork, with installation and ongoing support available.

Based in Bridlington, Yorkshire, we manufacture our own dust extraction equipment and can provide bespoke solutions where a standard system isn’t suitable. Need a dust extraction system? Contact Inventair for a free quotation and discuss your requirements with our team.

Complete dust extraction systems

Every woodworking workshop is different. The right extraction system depends on the machinery being used, the number of machines connected, which machines operate at the same time, the workshop layout and the required airflow.

Inventair can help with the design and supply of complete or part dust extraction systems, including:

  • Industrial dust extraction units

  • Wood dust extraction systems

  • Sawdust extraction

  • MDF and chipboard dust extraction

  • Woodworking machinery extraction

  • Dust extraction fans

  • Galvanised extraction ductwork

  • Filter units

  • Bagging and multi-filter extraction units

  • Bespoke dust extraction equipment

  • Replacement and refurbished extraction equipment

  • Extraction system installation

  • Maintenance and LEV/COSHH services

Our existing range includes standard and multi-filter dust extraction units designed to collect and filter wood waste such as sawdust, wood chippings, MDF and chipboard waste.

Bespoke dust extraction systems

A standard dust extractor isn’t always the right solution.

Inventair manufactures its own dust extraction units, allowing us to modify equipment to suit individual requirements. This can include adapting the height of a unit where space is restricted, changing the waste collection arrangement or mounting equipment above a skip, briquetter or other waste-disposal system.

If your workshop has unusual dimensions, restricted space, multiple machines or a specific waste-handling requirement, talk to us about a bespoke extraction solution.

Dust extraction for woodworking and joinery

Effective extraction is an important part of controlling wood dust in a woodworking environment.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) advises that dust extraction, also known as local exhaust ventilation (LEV), should be provided at woodworking machines to capture and remove dust before it spreads through the workplace. System design should take account of the machines connected, which machines are used together, the workshop layout and the airflow requirements of the individual machines.

Inventair has specialised in the woodworking industry for more than three decades. We can assess your requirements and help develop an extraction system suited to your machinery and workshop.

Wood dust extraction for MDF, chipboard and timber

Our dust extraction equipment is designed for applications involving a range of wood waste, including:

  • Sawdust

  • Wood chippings

  • Wood shavings

  • MDF dust

  • Chipboard waste

  • Timber waste

Inventair’s standard and multi-filter extraction units use filtration and collection systems to separate wood waste and fine dust.

For larger or more specialised requirements, we can develop a bespoke system around your machinery and waste-management arrangements.

Dust extraction ductwork

A dust extraction system is more than just the extractor itself.

The ductwork connecting your woodworking machinery to the extraction unit is a critical part of the overall system. Inventair supplies and installs quality galvanised ductwork as part of complete or partial extraction systems.

Our project engineers can assess your workshop layout and produce detailed drawings as part of the design process. Inventair states that its project engineers can provide detailed 3D AutoCAD/Inventor drawings for installations.

Dust extraction units

Inventair manufactures and supplies a range of industrial woodworking dust extraction units.

Our standard units are designed for collecting and filtering wood waste, with models covering different airflow, motor and filter-area requirements.

We also manufacture multi-filter extraction units, including MTFA models with automatic filter-cleaning systems.

If you are unsure which extraction unit is appropriate for your machinery, contact us and we can discuss your requirements.

New, refurbished and replacement extraction equipment

Inventair can supply both new and refurbished dust extraction equipment.

Our stock includes extraction units and components, providing options for businesses looking to replace an existing extractor, expand their workshop or find a cost-effective solution.

We also supply extraction consumables and components, including filter bags and other replacement parts.

Dust extraction system design and installation

We can support projects from initial assessment through to installation.

Our process can include:

  1. Discussing your requirements – understanding your machinery, workshop, production and waste-management requirements.

  2. System assessment – considering the machines to be connected, their usage and your workshop layout.

  3. System design – developing an appropriate extraction arrangement and equipment specification.

  4. Detailed drawings – providing project drawings where required.

  5. Manufacture and supply – manufacturing or supplying the required extraction equipment, ductwork and components.

  6. Installation – installing the extraction system at your premises.

  7. Ongoing support – supplying replacement parts, consumables, maintenance and LEV/COSHH-related services where required.

Inventair says its assessment process includes advising customers on alternative solutions, future expansion and future-proofing requirements before producing a comprehensive quotation.

UK-wide dust extraction services

Inventair is based in Bridlington, Yorkshire, and works with woodworking businesses across the UK.

Our specialist knowledge covers woodworking and joinery applications, from individual extraction units through to larger bespoke extraction installations.

Whether you need a new woodworking dust extraction system, replacement extraction equipment, additional ductwork or a bespoke solution for an existing workshop, our team can discuss your requirements.

LEV, COSHH and wood dust

Wood dust can present significant health risks. HSE guidance states that hardwood and softwood dust have workplace exposure limits and recommends effective dust extraction at woodworking machines to control exposure at source.

An extraction system should therefore be considered as part of a wider approach to controlling exposure to wood dust.

If you require LEV examination, testing or maintenance, speak to the Inventair team about the services available for your system.

Important: Extraction requirements depend on the machinery, materials, process and workplace. Inventair can discuss your specific requirements, but businesses should ensure their systems and workplace controls meet applicable health and safety requirements.
